Girl Scouts Host Information,Recruitment Event In Homewood

HOMEWOOD, IL — Girl Scouts of the Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana areas will host a "Leave Some Love" event this weekend.

The event is a fun drive-thru event for girls in K-12 to learn more about Girl Scouts. Leave Some Love will include socially distanced activities, games and a community service project to promote kindness, according to Girl Scouts.

Participants will also gather information about Girl Scouts while enjoying their time, according to Girl Scouts. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable, non-expired item to donate to the local food pantry.

"Creative, innovative events like 'Leave Some Love' provide us with wonderful opportunities to engage communities and families safely," said Nancy Wright, CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

"Even though COVID-19 forced us to pivot our programming, we remain dedicated to equipping girls with the tools they need to be strong, resilient, and courageous," Wright said.

This event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at Homewood Gathering Place 1005 175th St., Homewood. Registration is required and is free of charge. Girl Scouts said the event will be socially distant and masks are required to participate.
