Gourmet Deli Coming to a Grape & Grain Near You

Homewood's sandwich market is about to diversify.

Boutique wine and beer shop and bar Grape & Grain Co., 18031 Dixie Hwy, will begin serving up gourmet hot and cold paninis, sandwiches and flatbreads sometime after Thanksgiving, according to owner Ron Khalaf.

"It will be a simple, European-style deli," Khalaf said. "Nothing like Subway or Quiznos."

Khalad said he's working with a chef on the finishing touches of the menu. If all goes well, it should be available sometime next week (we'll make sure to post it when it is).

Grape & Grain Co. will also be adding several television screens for events like movie night and the Homewood-Flossmoor Science Pub. 

"It's not turning into a sports bar," Khalaf said. "It will still have the nice, cozy atmosphere that it does now."
