Halloween Trick-Or-Treating: When To Go In Homewood, Flossmoor
PLUS: The Flossmoor Public Library holds a Zombie Prom for teenagers.

Time to get ready for that late afternoon and evening when young, little Wonder Women and Darth Vaders join traditional ghosts and witches to make the trick-or-treat rounds on Halloween. So pull out the candy corn and chocolate from the pantry and find out what time you can expect the kids from then neighborhood to be ringing your door bell. And if you're a parent, know when you'll want to put on the comfortable sneakers and escort your child house to house for Halloween.
Trick-or-treating hours for both Homewood and Flossmoor are from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. The following is a list of the recommended 2017 trick-or-treat times for other nearby communities:
- Chicago Heights: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31
- Tinley Park: 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31
- Oak Forest: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31
- Frankfort: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31
And in case you can't get enough Halloween, Flossmoor has a couple events to enjoy between now and Tuesday. The Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will hold its Zombie Prom for teens ages 14 to 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The event will include a costume contest, photo contest and, of course, dancing. Participants are asked to register and can do so at the library's website.

The Flossmoor Fire Department will give kids from preschool through third grade something to do after trick-or-treating thanks to its annual children's Halloween party, which runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the gym of Parker Junior High School, 2810 School St. Go to the village's website for more information.
