Help Honor A WWII Hero With Honor Flight Chicago
Honor Flight Chicago needs help in locating WWII veterans for this year's special one-day trips to Washington, D.C.

Memorial Day may be over, but it’s not too late to help show your appreciation for the WWII veterans in your life with a complimentary day trip to Washington D.C.
Since 2008 the program Honor Flight Chicago has treated over 4,000 veterans to an honorary day-trip to Washington, D.C., but there’s still over 20,000 local WWII vets who still haven’t had the chance to experience this hard-earned gift of appreciation. Three remaining flights are scheduled this year: June 12, July 10 and Aug. 7.
If you want to make sure more heroes get the honor they deserve, here's a few simple things you can do:
- Distribute “Operation Locate A Hero” fliers to local businesses. Check out photo viewer for a printable copy.
- Volunteer to help work a table at local designated Honor Flight Chicago locations.
- Reach out to WWII veterans who you may know through family, friends, and colleagues and help them sign them up to fly. You can find a copy of the online veteran application on the Honor Flight Chicago website.
- Spread the word on Facebook by sharing this flier with your friends.
