As you read this, there's a decent chance Jahanah Wallace is at her Homewood home hammering out an original dance routine with some help from mom. It's a hybrid between ballet and hip hop, she says. Much to her surprise, the soon-to-be H-F senior was recently named a finalist in the Miss Illinois Teen Pageant, hosted by National American Miss (not to be confused with the Miss Illinois Teen held by the Miss Universe Organization, which is co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC Universal). Wallace's next step is the Miss Illinois Pageant on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4. That leaves her a month to work on her moves. "I hope I get this," she said. "I really want to do this."
