Homewood, Chicago Heights Little League Programs Merge
The Homewood Heights baseball club and Chicago Heights are merging their programs to offer powerhouse youth sports for the south suburbs.
HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood Heights Baseball & Softball club and the Chicago Heights Park District baseball and softball program are merging to form what they plan to be a youth sport powerhouse for the south suburbs.
Homewood Heights has hired Mike DeButch, a Bloom High School graduate and minor league baseball player who was once drafted by the San Diego Padres, as its director of baseball and softball operations. He currently serves as the assistant superintendent of the Chicago Heights park district.
The new program will debut in the fall.

"After many discussions, it became apparent that together the two organizations can offer something unique for the South Suburbs by combining our great efforts and resources," said Homewood Heights president Brian Andreatta in a statement.
Homewood Heights is a Little League-chartered organization that offers baseball and softball to kids in Homewood, Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, Olympia Fields and Glenwood. It is designed to offer options for kids of all levels to play T-ball and Little League baseball and to join part-time travel and full-time travel programs.
