Homewood Choir Director 'An Inspiration To All,' Leads With Positivity

HOMEWOOD, IL — Without community leaders, Homewood wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

What does this community leader do?

Director of Spotlight Performance Academy & Bellcanto Community Choir. Spotlight Performance Academy is not only a music-based program but teaches leadership skills

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

She is the hardest working person focused on providing her community with a positive, inclusive musical/leadership experience for all age groups. Encourages all members to become involved in community service. Carrie has faced some personal hardships when she lost her entire home to a devastating home fire, but she held her family together with her positive attitude. She is truly an inspiration to all who know her.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Carrie inspires everyone to be their best self and through music this world could be a kinder/more inclusive place.
