Starting at 5 p.m., community members are invited to Irwin Park for a night of food, fun, unity and more. National Night Out was conceived as a way to "strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage each other in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners," according to a release on the Homewood website. Attendees will interact with each other, local law enforcement and learn how to participate in local anti-crime programs.

Homewood residents are being invited to participate in 'National Night Out,' on Tuesday, Aug. 6, beginning at 5 p.m. at Irwin Park. The event will feature fun, music and a chance to interact with neighbors and local law enforcement.
