Homewood Woman, 33, Dead In Car, Motorcycle Crash On I-57: ISP

According to state police, a car and Slingshot motorcycle crashed last week near 147th Street, killing one and injuring another.

DIXMOOR, IL — One person is dead and one was injured after a crash last week between a car and motorcycle on Interstate 57, Illinois State Police told Patch.

According to ISP, a car and three-wheeled Slingshot motorcycle collided on I-57 near 147th Street on Mar. 20 at around 6:30 p.m. One woman was dead at the scene before troopers arrived, officials said, and one person was taken to a local hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries.

A stretch of southbound I-57 was closed until 11 p.m.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman who died in the crash as 33-year-old Heather Berry of Homewood. Berry's death was ruled an accident following an autopsy, officials said.
