Homewood's Outdoor Farmers Market Opens For Season May 25

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood kicks off their 42nd outdoor farmers market in Martin Square on Saturday, May 25. Homewood’s Farmers Market is one of the oldest markets in the Chicagoland area. The market will run Saturdays from May 25 until October 12, with hours 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Homewood.

The Homewood Farmers Market is a staple in the south suburbs and tops out at over 1,000 attendees each Saturday. The market has expanded to offer other items than just food including live music, handcrafted gifts, ready-to-eat specialty foods, homemade pet treats, soaps, oils, lotions, and more.

The Homewood Farmers Market looks to engage the community and bring a sense of belonging into the downtown area. New to the market this year will be pop-up cardio dance workout sessions which will be incorporated throughout the season. Also, our family-friendly market invites kids to have their faces painted by professional face painters, kids yoga and other kid-friendly activities. Lastly, the market will have pop-up chef stations throughout the year, with chefs coming to cook quick simple meals using some fresh ingredients from the market.

The market will feature over 30 different vendors during its 21-week duration. Friendly and social pets are allowed on a leash.
