HAZEL CREST, IL — Police have narrowed in on the make and model of one of two cars that struck a 22-year-old Park Forest woman last month, killing her. The woman's family is also now offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest, said Hazel Crest Police Chief Mitchell Davis.

Hazel Crest police were called at 11:20 p.m. Aug. 1 to 173rd and Kedzie Avenue, for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car.

Witnesses told police that a woman—identified as Tamia Costello of Park Forest—had been struck by a white SUV that fled north on Kedzie, police said.

As she lay in the street and witnesses tried to stop traffic, Costello was struck a second time, by a black sedan northbound on Kedzie. That car also did not stop, police said.

Costello was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. She died Sunday, August 4, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
