Juvenile Beaten Unconscious and Robbed on Alexander Road: Police Blotter

A juvenile was beaten and robbed while walking westbound along the 2400 block of Alexander Rd. around 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 29, according to police. 

Police say a group of three to four unknown black males snuck up behind the juvenile when one asked, “Can I borrow five dollars?” The juvenile replied, “No,” without turning around, reports say. One of the assailants then hit the juvenile in the back of the head with an unknown object, causing him to fall to the ground where he was knocked unconscious by additional pummeling, police say. The attackers then snatched the juvenile’s iPhone and $100 in cash before fleeing the scene, according to reports. The juvenile stood up and walked over to a nearby friend’s house after regaining consciousness—before being immediately transported to St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, police said.

The juvenile could only offer vague descriptions of two of the attackers, according to reports. The first is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, 5-foot-9-inches tall with a stocky build and shoulder-length braided hair. The second man is described identically except with shorter hair and wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, reports say.
