Man Carjacked By Masked, Rifle-Wielding Suspect: Homewood PD
The carjacking happened Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the 800 block of Elder Road in Homewood.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A man was carjacked at gunpoint Tuesday evening by suspects armed with both a rifle and handgun, Homewood police said Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27 at approximately 6 p.m, Homewood police were called to the 800 block of Elder Road for a reported carjacking. Police learned that the victim was seated in his silver Kia Sorento, when he was approached by two armed offenders.
One suspect was described as a male wearing a ski mask and armed with a rifle. The second was described as a female, approximately 25 years old, armed with a handgun. The victim exited his car, and fled on foot while the offenders took his car and fled northbound from the location.

The vehicle was later found unoccupied in Chicago. The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting an investigation.
