Man Shot In Homewood, Second Man In Custody: Police

HOMEWOOD, IL — A 40-year-old man was shot Sunday evening in Homewood, police said.

Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim near Hillview Road and Poplar Avenue, where they found the man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The man was taken to an area hospital.

A second man, age 35, was taken into custody. Police told Patch charges had not been filed as of Monday morning.

Police said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the community.
