Metra Holiday Train To Make Weekend Stops In Homewood, Flossmoor
The decorated train, which will have Santa and his elves aboard, will pass through the area on Saturday morning en route to Chicago.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Metra’s holiday train will be making its first run of the season this weekend and although it is sold out, residents in Homewood and Flossmoor will still have the chance to see it when it makes a pair of stops at local stations.
The train, which is decorated for the holiday season, will leave the University Park station at 11 a.m. on Saturday and is expected to make stops in Flossmoor at 11:13 a.m. and in Homewood at 11:15 as it makes its way for Chicago’s Millennium Station, where it is scheduled to arrive at 11:58 a.m., Metra officials announced.
Saturday’s run is the first of three holiday train trips this holiday season and features Santa, elves, and costumed Metra employees who will all be aboard the decorated train cars headed for Chicago. Metra officials said that tickets, which were made available in November, have sold out and no more passengers will be allowed to board.

This first train will be ridden by children from Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, who received donated tickets, Metra officials said.
