Victim Hit By Car While Chasing Stolen Vehicle: Homewood PD
According to Homewood police, a person had left their car running in a parking lot Sunday night when someone got into it and sped away.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A person was hit by a second car Sunday night while chasing after their own vehicle that had just been stolen from a parking lot, Homewood police said.
According to officials, the victim had left their car running in a parking lot in the 18200 block of Halsted Street at around 9:50 p.m. Sunday when an unknown person got in the vehicle and sped away.
Police said the car's owner chased after the vehicle until they were hit by another car, which authorities believe was involved in the theft. Shell casings recovered at the scene show shots were fired during the chase, but Homewood police did not immediately respond to questions asking who fired the shots.

The person who was struck by the car was seen by Homewood Fire Department paramedics for minor injuries and refused further treatment.
