HOMEWOOD, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at the South Suburban Humane Society. This week's 'Adoptable Pet' is Tide, who is available for adoption at the humane society's Homewood Adoption Center.

The society said Tide came to them from another shelter where she was surrendered after her owner had some health issues that no longer allowed them to be able to care for her. She is about 9 years old, incredibly sweet and great with people of all ages! She was crate trained with her previous owner and appears to be pretty housebroken. She can be a bit selective about her dog friends and prefers medium sized male dogs who are very calm and passive and leave her alone to do her own thing!

The Homewood Adoption Center is at 2207 W. 183rd St. and is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
