1 Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On Governors Highway: Homewood Police

The accident happened in the 17900 block of Governors Highway Tuesday afternoon, police said.

HOMEWOOD, IL — One person was killed, and four others injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Governors Highway, Homewood police said.

Police were called just before 2:30 p.m. to the 17900 block of Governors Highway for a report of a single-vehicle crash. Responding officers found a white Ford van at the scene. The driver and three passengers of the van were treated and transported to local hospitals. A fourth passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Homewood police said.

Identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit with assistance from the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART).
