HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — An HF Diversity breakfast will be held May 18 at Redbird Cafe in Homewood in response to a blackface controversy that stirred up racial tensions across the community in recent days.

Redbird will serve food from its menu for purchase and will seat participants randomly with other area residents so that they can hold conversations over breakfast, organizers said.

HB Nation will be on site to sell some custom Homewood-Flossmoor Strong Diversity clothing.

The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Sat., May 18. Reservations are required and seating is limited.
