Riverdale Man, 18, Charged In Armed Robbery: Flossmoor PD

The man is charged with armed robbery in the Oct. 17 incident.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — An 18-year-old Riverdale man faces charges in an October 17 armed robbery in Flossmoor, police said.

Police said that at approximately 1:35 p.m. Thursday, a male suspect—now identified as Jhamier L. Weatherspoon—approached a female victim at gunpoint in the 1000 block of Douglas Avenue. The man took the woman's personal belongings, including her car keys, before then demanding information about the location of her vehicle. The man then went to the 2700 block of Flossmoor Road, where he stole the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not harmed during the robbery.

Flossmoor police quickly alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies with details of the vehicle and suspect. Shortly after, the vehicle was found in the 5900 block of Rice Street in Chicago. Weatherspoon was taken into custody, the vehicle recovered, and a firearm was confiscated.
