Shooting At Amazon Fulfillment Center In Matteson: Police

MATTESON, IL — A woman was injured in a shooting Sunday night at an Amazon fulfillment center in Matteson, police said.

Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to the center in the 7000 block of Vollmer Road, where they found a 33-year-old Chicago area woman suffering from a graze wound to the head, according to police. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment of the injury, which was not life-threatening, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed the shooting was likely in retaliation for a fight among employees earlier in the night in the parking lot, according to police, who believe the attack was an isolated incident.
