Snow Causes Flossmoor Village Hall To Go Remote, EMS Not Impacted

Flossmoor officials are following the lead of towns like Chicago Heights and Homewood in closing municipal buildings due to a winter storm.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor officials announced Village Hall will be closed Thursday due to a winter storm which hit part of Illinois Tuesday night.

While the building will be closed to the public, village staff will still be working remotely the entire day. Public works and other municipal services will continue running.

"Residents are encouraged to do business with the Village either by phone, email or website," a spokesperson for the village wrote in a press release.

Homewood Village Hall was closed to the public on Wednesday but reopened Thursday morning. Many south suburban villages and cities responded to the snowstorm in kind, cancelling non-emergency services and even pushing back garbage pickup.

According to Flossmoor officials, village staff will return to the office Friday morning.
