Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle issued a disaster proclamation today in response to the massive flooding that's left many communities underwater.
The Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management activated its Incident Command Center Wednesday, and it will continue operating throughout the duration of the severe weather.
The flooding has already taken a serious toll on driving conditions. Commuters are suggested to plan ahead as IDOT announced the closure of multiple major roads throughout the Friday morning commute.
