Suspicious Man Approaches Young Girl in 7-Eleven Parking Lot

A woman and her daughter had a scary encounter with a man claiming to be a police officer in the parking lot of 7-Eleven on Sunday.

The woman told police she was buying something at the store, located in the 3100 block of 183rd Street, while her 13-year-old daughter waited in the car. While the woman was still in the store a man approached the car and began talking to her daughter.

The child told police the man asked her to roll her window down, but she refused. The mother saw the exchange taking place and went outside to confront the man. The man said he was trying to tell the child about how young girls are being abducted from vehicles, according to the report. The woman yelled at him, telling him he should not be talking to her daughter. The man then said he was a police officer before leaving the area.

The woman told police the man appeared to be about 45 years old, with a gray beard and glasses. He was driving a silver or gray minivan.
