A preview of what will be discussed and voted on during Homewood's Tuesday, Nov. 12 village board meeting.
Mayor Richard Hofeld and the Homewood trustees will gather at village hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night for the village's Nov. 12 business meeting.
Here are some agenda highlights:
- Tax Money Disbursement: Trustees will vote to disburse the remaining $466,000 generated by the Washington Park TIF fund to local taxing bodies—including school districts 153 and 233, the Homewood Public Library and the H-F Park District.
- Business Incentive Money, Family Liquors: Trustees will vote on a request from Family Liquors in Homewood for just under $10,000 through the Facade and Property improvement program.
- Annual Video Gambling Fees: Trustees will vote to establish an annual video gambling fee for local businesses at a rate of $25 per machine per year. Several Homewood establishments already offer video gambling, including Mama & Me Pizzeria, 5th Quarter Tap, Tin Ceiling Tavern and the Ridgewood Tap.
- Holiday Lights Budget Increase: Trustees will vote to budget an additional $20,000 (contributed by Advocate South Suburban) towards this year's Holiday Lights event. The former cash allowance was $10,000.
