The Week in Review: Ski Mask Burglar, "Exemplary" H-F High, and the Daddy-Daughter Dance

With "" and bitter cold temperatures behind us, and the prospect of 50 degree weather next week, things seemed to be taking a turn for the better in the Southland. Now is your chance make the best of it by priming yourself with the highlights of last week's local news. After all, you might find that conversation material is increasingly valuable as nature and personalities begin to thaw.  

  1. H-F High School was recently named by the College Board to have Illinois' only "exemplary AP program." According to a press release from district 233, H-F High's African American test scores on the AP psychology exam are the highest in the entire nation. Read more . 
  2. Our first-ever made its debut this week. The weekly piece features local moms giving their opinions on issues that relate to all parents. This took a look at MTV's controversial show "Skins." 
  3. A generated some controversy among H-F Patch readers. The story came from a special notice from the police department detailing the burglary of laptops, jewelry and a television from a Flossmoor home.   4. The Viking boys continued their winning streak by beating L-Way East, but just barely.
