VIDEO: H-F's Annual Daddy-Daughter Date Night

The H-F Park District hosted its annual Daddy-Daughter Date Night last Friday.

Dads and their daughters poured into the H-F Sports Complex on Feb. 4 to celebrate the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s extremely popular Daddy-Daughter Date Night. Two sessions of the annual event were held back-to-back to accommodate the large number of participants.

“We had a set number (of tickets) for the whole night … 550,” said Recreation Supervisor LeeAnn Fisk, who was responsible for planning the date night. “The event sold out, and people got to choose the session they wanted to attend.”

The evening featured not only the classic Daddy-Daughter Dance, but also an arts and crafts station for making Valentine's Day crafts and an impressive selection of refreshments, including a punch fountain.

Fisk said the date night offers something unique to local dads.

“(Dads) are with all other dads so they can … let down their guard,” she said. “Maybe their wives don’t even know they dance. Seeing all these dads with their daughters makes me smile so much that my jaw hurts by the time the night is over because it is absolutely adorable.”
