Village Hall, Public Works Closures Extended Through Early June

The village of Homewood has extended their own closures past the date of the state's shelter-in-place order.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Both Homewood Village Hall, 2020 Chestnut Road and the Homewood Public Works - Municipal Service Center, 17755 Ashland Ave. will be closed to the public throughout the month of May. This extension goes beyond the state issued shelter-in-place order that's now set to expire at the end of April.

The village sent an email to residents on Friday, saying the decision to extend the closures were made "for the safety of our residents and staff." As of now, the closures will be in effect until June 1.

"Residents can still make payments online, or use the drop box located just outside the south doors of Village Hall for all municipal payments," the email alert indicates.
