The cleanup day will be held Saturday, April 27. Efforts will focus on downtown Homewood and the immediate vicinity.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood is encouraging residents to participate in a village-wide cleanup day on Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers are needed and encouraged to help cleanup downtown Homewood and in the immediate vicinity.

Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Volunteers who are in eighth grade or younger must have a parent or guardian accompany them while working. Volunteers who spend the entire three and a half hours volunteering for Cleanup Day are welcome to a hot dog, chips and water at the Public Works building, located at 17755 Ashland Ave.

"We are really excited to partner with community members again this year for the Homewood Cleanup Day!" said Events Manager Marla Youngblood. "Our streets, neighborhoods and other areas need a little extra love from the winter months. We always have fun at this event and are looking forward to seeing new faces this year!"
