HOMEWOOD, IL — The Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve's second annual calendar photo competition, "More Seasons of Izaak Walton/2021," is coming to an end this Thursday. Over 150 photos were submitted this year, according to the photo committee.

The contest is back again, after over 200 photos were entered last year for a spot in the "Seasons of Izaak Walton/2020," calendar. Entries came to an end on Monday night, but votes are still accepted until the morning of Thursday, Oct. 1.

The public was able to vote up to 12 times in the contest on Facebook. Votes will be used along with recommendations from the judges to determine the winners, which will be used in the 2021 calendar.

"We are delighted that despite the pandemic, so many photographers still took the time to enter their photos," said Howard Wolinsky, spokesman for the photo committee.

The 2021 calendar will be expanded to a 14-month calendar. No more than one photo per photographer will be selected for each month on the calendar. Extra images from a winning photographer may be used as thumbnails on the calendar, according to Wolinsky.

By submitting images, if your photo is chosen, the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve has the right and privilege of printing the image, to be included in its 2021 calendar, according to the committee.

All proceeds from the calendars shall benefit the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve. For more information on the photography competition, visit The Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve website.
