Woman Robbed At Gunpoint, Car Stolen: Flossmoor Police

The suspect took the woman's belongings, then went to find her car and stole that, too, Flossmoor police said.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — A woman was robbed at gunpoint in Flossmoor Thursday afternoon, police said, with the suspect then also stealing her car.

At approximately 1:35 p.m. Thursday, a male suspect approached a female victim at gunpoint in the 1000 block of Douglas Avenue. The man took the woman's personal belongings, including her car keys, before then demanding information about the location of her vehicle. The man then went to the 2700 block of Flossmoor Road, where he stole the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not harmed during the robbery.

Flossmoor police quickly alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies with details of the vehicle and suspect. Shortly after, the vehicle was found in the 5900 block of Rice Street, in Chicago. LPR (License Plate Reader) cameras were used as part of the search for the suspect.

The suspect was arrested, the vehicle recovered, and a firearm was confiscated.

Police had not disclosed the suspect's identity or charges as of 8:15 p.m.
