Calling all soup chefs for Shepherd of the Prairie Lenten suppers

Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley will begin its weekly “Lenten Dinner Church Worship and Supper” on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 5:45pm in the fellowship hall.

Subsequent dates for “Lenten Dinner Church Worship and Suppers” will be February 28, March 6, 13 and 20, 2024 in the fellowship hall.

The evening will begin with a prayer followed by a hearty and warm soup meal. During the meal, participants will sing, read a scripture passage with a brief reflection from Senior Pastor Mark Boster or Pastor Ryan Mackey. They will share Holy Communion and close the evening with a song and a prayer.

“We look forward to this annual Lenten journey filled with prayer and fellowship,” said Donna Kelly, director of connections ministries. “We invite our participants to sign up to provide soup for the church supper and for set-up and clean-up assistance.”
