Huntley Hospital Offers Prescription Drug Drop-Off

Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital hosted its first collection site for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event provides a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused opioids and other prescription medications. Unused medications that go in the trash can be retrieved and abused, or illegally sold, and flushing them can contaminate the water supply.

More than 155 lbs. of unused prescription drugs were collected and given to local law enforcement for safe disposal. For more information on prescription drug misuse, visit dea.gov.
