Missionary from Africa visits Shepherd of the Prairie in Huntley
Daudi ( David ) Msseemmaa serves as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Regional Representative to Tanzania.

Daudi ( David ) Msseemmaa, one of the missionaries Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley helps sponsor in Africa, recently took part in services on Sunday, July 21 at the church.
“Our missionary from Tanzania, Daudi (David) Msseemmaa, who is visiting the US this summer, was our very special guest in worship,” said Pastor Mark Boster, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church. “He serves as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Regional Representative to Tanzania which is one of the missionaries we help sponsor in Africa. His inspiring words tied in the message on how our support truly makes a difference in helping others.”
As currently planned, every two years Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA ) Missionaries are scheduled to visit their sponsoring congregations in the U.S.

Msseemmaa was raised in Northern Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University.
His wife Kellen was raised in Uganda and graduated from Uganda University. She is the founder of Empowered Girls, a not for profit that empowers girls in Africa. Often the girls are marginalized by culture, tradition and systems which pose so many challenges, obstacles, hindrances and boundaries to them living their dreams and full potential.

The Msseemmaa’s are the ELCA Regional Representatives for East Africa. Coordinating and leading charitable works of missionaries in this part of Africa is a large part of their work.
