1-Year-old Boy, 8-Year-old Girl Left Alone in Parked Car: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A University Park woman was cited for allegedly leaving a 1-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl alone in a parked car while she popped into the North Larkin Avenue OfficeMax.

Malicka Banks, 25, returned to the car within minutes of the officer’s arrival at her parked Ford Focus Monday afternoon, police said. She still got a ticket.

The car’s windows were rolled down and the children did not appear to be in distress, police said.
