2 Hospitalized In Joliet After Car Collides With Motorcycle: Police
A 46-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after he struck a vehicle that police said failed to yield while turning left.
JOLIET, IL — Two people were injured, including one seriously, after a car and motorcycle collided on Wednesday afternoon, sending both drivers to a local hospital, Joliet Police said on Thursday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Black Road and Rooney Drive at 3:32 p.m. and an investigation conducted by police showed that a Hyundai Tucson being driven by Dixie Balsey, 76, of Joliet, collided with a motorcycle being driven by a 46-year-old Joliet man, police said.
Police said that Balsey’s vehicle was turning north toward Rooney Drive when the Harley-Davidson struck the passenger side of the vehicle. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the crash and Balsey sustained minor injuries, police said.

Both were taken to Ascension St. Joseph Hospital for their injuries. Basley was cited for failure to yield while turning left, police said.
