2 People Shot In Joliet, No Motive Known: JPD
A woman was shot in the back and a man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A man and woman were shot while they stood near a vehicle in the early hours of Thursday morning on Joliet's Benton Street, police said.
Police responding to a report of shots fired at 12:41 a.m. in the 500 block of East Benton Street found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the back and a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to a news release.
Officers rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived, police said, and both victims were taken to local hospitals by the Joliet Fire Department. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, according to police.

Both victims were shot while standing near a vehicle, said police, who believe the shots were fired from down the street.
During a canvass of the area, officers found that one home and multiple unoccupied vehicles were hit by gunfire, and multiple spent shell casings were found, according to police.

Police said there is no confirmed motive for the shooting.
