Man Charged After Shooting, Stabbing In Joliet Township: Police

JOLIET TOWNSHIP, IL — A 25-year-old man is charged in connection with an incident in which one man was shot and another was stabbed in Joliet Township, according to police.

Maximiliano Lara is charged with aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon, a felony, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, which added that more charges may follow as the investigation continues.

Deputies responded around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday to the 1400 block of Elgin Avenue for a reported shooting and found a 66-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said, adding he was taken to a hospital. A second man with a stab wound received aid at the scene, according to police.
