3 Jailed For Attack on Out-of-Towners at Collins Street Gas Station
The two men who were sitting in a van when they were attacked, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A man and two teens were jailed in connection with a Monday afternoon attack on two out-of-towners at a Collins Street gas station.
Two young men were sitting in a van parked at a pump while there father was inside the gas station on the corner of Collins and Jackson streets when they were attacked about 12:45 p.m.
One of the attackers, 20-year-old Derian Moreno of Joliet, smashed out a van window with a rock, police said.

Moreno’s partners in crime — Anthony Limon, 18, of Bolingbrook and an unidentified 17-year-old — tried pulling the front doors of the van open so they could get inside, police said.
The father reportedly rushed out of the gas station, was able to get past the 17-year-old and into the van. He drove off before the cops arrived, police said.

Moreno, Limon and the 17-year-old were apprehended a short distance away on Benton Street.
The van’s registered owner reportedly lives in Chicago. Detectives had yet to speak with him Tuesday morning.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, police said.
Moreno and Limon booked into the Will County jail. The 17-year-old was taken to River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
