3 Shot Last Week At Joliet's Riverwalk Homes: One Shooting Victim Faces Criminal Charges

JOLIET, IL — One of the three people who were shot last week in Joliet at the former Evergreen Terrace public housing complex, now called Riverwalk Homes, has been released from the hospital and booked into the Will County Jail on six criminal charges.
Joliet police revealed that 32-year-old Jonathan Britton of Chicago was arrested and brought to the Will County Jail where he faces charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by felon, reckless discharge, aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of ammunition by felon and being an armed habitual offender.
According to Monday's press release from police spokesman Dwayne English, Britton was identified by Joliet's detectives as one of the suspects involved in a shooting at Riverwalk Homes during the evening of June 12.

English said police allege "that Britton fired a weapon during the incident. Britton sustained a gunshot wound during the shooting and was taken to a local hospital. He was released from the hospital on June 13."

Meanwhile, an additional 30-year-old suspect in the same Riverwalk Homes shooting remains at a local hospital under police guard, English said.
