Taser 'Ineffective,' Man Played Music Too Loud: Joliet Police
Edgar Gastelum, 50, was then taken to the ground by Joliet's officers and placed into custody without further incident, authorities say.

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department announced that officers deployed their Tasers over the weekend, trying to subdue 50-year-old Plainfield resident Edgar Gastelum, after not just one, or two, but three separate loud music complaints coming from his house in the Plainfield area.
He was taken away in handcuffs and later released from custody after receiving his Notice to Appear in Will County on two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
Gastelum's arrest happened just after midnight on Saturday.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said officers responded to Gastelum's house in the 6400 block of Denali Ridge Drive for a loud noise complaint. This was the third time Joliet's officers were called to this house for the same problem.
Officers spoke to Gastelum, the homeowner, and advised him that a ticket would be issued for the noise. Gastelum refused to provide identification to the officer, according to English. When an officer tried to place Gastelum into handcuffs, he pushed the officer's hands away and continued to resist by attempting to pull away from the officer, English said.

"It is believed that during this struggle, Gastelum grabbed a second officer and attempted to drag the officer to the ground. This officer deployed a taser at Gastelum, but it was ineffective," English announced.
At that point, Gastelum was then taken to the ground by the officers and placed into custody without further incident.
Denali Ridge is in the subdivision between Caton Farm Road and Theodore Street.
