5-Hour Energy Bottle Full of ‘Liquid Substance’ Hidden in Vagina Fails to Thwart Drug Test: Complaint

JOLIET, IL — A woman on probation for a heroin conviction tried to beat a drug test by hiding a 5-Hour energy bottle full of a “liquid substance” in her vagina, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Maggie McVey, 30, got caught trying to fake out the authorities on Friday, the complaint said. McVey was booked into the Will County jail and her bond was set at $50,000.

McVey “had a 5-Hour Energy bottle containing a liquid substance inside her vagina and presented herself for a drug screening test,” the complaint said.

McVey pleaded guilty in September to possessing heroin. A charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver was dismissed, and McVey was sentenced to the 172 days she had already spent in jail and to two years probation.

McVey remains in custody.
