Reckless Driving Arrest: Joliet Police Shatter BMW's Window, Arrest Teen Driver
The driver was identified as Edgar Aguirre-Dominguez and placed into custody following a brief struggle with Joliet police officers.

JOLIET, IL — An 18-year-old BMW driver from Crest Hill, Edgar Aguirre-Dominguez, now finds himself facing charges after Joliet police arrested him this week on charges of reckless conduct, reckless driving, aggravated fleeing the police, two counts of obstructing a police officer and one count of resisting arrest.
Everything happened late on Tuesday night.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 11:06 p.m., a patrol officer tried to make a traffic stop on a BMW 330I traveling at a high rate of speed on West Jefferson from Reed Street. The driver refused to stop and turned the vehicle’s lights off while turning northbound on Bluff Street from West Jefferson Street, according to police.

The BMW lost control and left the roadway into the grass while trying to turn westbound on Marion Street and Bluff Street. The officer exited their squad car and gave numerous orders for the vehicle to stop, advising the driver they were under arrest, English said.
According to police, the driver continued to flee, ignoring the officer’s orders. The vehicle finally stopped after the officers broke out the passenger and driver side windows of the vehicle, English said.

The driver was identified as Aguirre-Dominguez, and he was placed into custody following a brief struggle with the officers.
Aguirre-Dominguez was cited for two counts of speeding, disobeying a traffic control device, improper lighting, failure to signal, improper lane usage and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
"It is alleged that Aguirre-Dominguez was traveling as fast as 70 miles per hour on West Jefferson Street prior to the traffic stop," English said.
The 18-year-old Crest Hill was not booked into the Will County Jail. He was given a notice to appear in Will County court.
