Aaliyah Sims, 24, Missing From Her Joliet Home: Police

Police asked for help finding Sims on Wednesday, but a Facebook group for missing Black people said the woman was last seen in May.

JOLIET, IL — Police announced Wednesday a 24-year-old Joliet woman is missing, and they're asking for the public's help in finding her.

A missing person's poster shared by the Black and Missing Facebook group states Sims hasn't been seen since late May, when family members posted that Sims was last seen at her home in the 700 block of Oneida Street. However, the Joliet Police Department says they did not receive a missing persons report for Sims until Wednesday.

Sims is Black, 5-feet-2-inches and has brown eyes. Authorities said she has long black hair.
