According to Sgt. Landeros, Denise Hudson was babysitting the victim when the May 16 shooting occurred. She failed to call 911 to request medical assistance for the victim. Detective Beck discovered that the shooting took place more than one and a half hours before the Joliet Police received the first 911 call, which was made by the victim’s mother from the hospital.
"Hudson's statements have been inconsistent and lack credibility," Landeros revealed.
While being questioned, Denise Hudson experienced illness and shortness of breath. The Joliet Fire Department was called to assess her condition. She was then taken to the hospital for treatment. After receiving care, Hudson was discharged and returned to the Joliet Police Department for processing. Subsequently, she was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility without any further incidents.
Will County's judges ruled that Denise Hudson should regain her freedom this week. After three days in the jail, she was let out on Monday, the jail logs show.
