Alleged Cabbie Stabber Jailed in Joliet

The Frankfort man finished an unrelated 18-day prison sentence and was taken to the Will County jail.

A Frankfort man wanted for allegedly stabbing and robbing a female cabbie at the end of a ride in Joliet was taken from Stateville prison to the Will County jail Friday afternoon.

Kevin Ludes, 30, did 18 days at Stateville for an unrelated theft conviction out of Cook County. He was released Friday and took a trip down Broadway to the jail in Joliet.

Ludes faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery and theft in Will County. The warrant for his arrest carries a $1 million bond.

Ludes, who has a tattoo of his own last name on his left forearm, possibly as a reminder, robbed and stabbed the taxi driver March 9 on Dover Street, police said.
