Alleged Firecracker Dog Killer Jailed Again

The ex-convict was wanted for failing a court-ordered drug test.

The alleged ex-convict dog killer wanted for failing a court-ordered drug test was back behind bars Monday evening.

Nicholas Garcia, 24, was in custody at the Will County jail, where he was being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. A warrant for his arrest had been issued after he failed a drug test Monday morning, according to court records.

Garcia has had an eventful summer. He was arrested last month for allegedly using fireworks to blow the face off a pit bull. Then, while he was out on bond, he allegedly got caught driving around with even more fireworks and pot in his car.

Garcia was released on his own recognizance but hauled off to jail when he made his next court appearance. Prosecutors had succeeded in getting his bond raised.

Garcia again made bond and enjoyed a full week of freedom before getting locked up once more on Monday.
