Angry Boyfriend Tears Up Gal Pal's Place, Goes Outside to Drink Cognac in Street, Gets Arrested: Cops

The angry boyfriend also cut his hand on a broken shower door and bled all over the place, police said.

JOLIET, IL — An angry boyfriend tore up his lady friend’s place, then went outside to sip some cognac in the street, police said.

Robert Hicks, 25, also allegedly bled all over the place after cutting his hand while smashing a glass shower door.

An enraged Hicks started out by throwing things around his girlfriend’s South Eastern Avenue home about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He then ripped the bathroom door off its hinges, broke it in half, shattered that shower door that cut his hand, flipped over the television set and punched a hole in the wall.

An entertainment center was also damaged during all of this, police said.

His injured hand reportedly leaving a trail of blood along the floor, Hicks then decided to take his leave and was already gone by the time the cops got there.

But Hicks didn’t get far, police said. Officers reportedly found him about an hour later drinking in the street from a bottle of cognac.

Hicks was arrested and later released on his own recognizance.
