Angry Boyfriend Tries to Run Down Bystander, Misses, Hits Parked Car: Cops

He was angry that the the other man intervened in his fight with his girlfriend, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man angry about someone butting into a dispute with his girlfriend tried to run the other guy over, police said, but failed and instead hit a parked car.

Lamarris Creal, 57, was arguing with his girlfriend at the Criswell Court trailer park about 6 p.m. Sunday when bystanders intervened, police said.

Creal responded to this by allegedly trying to run one of them over with his car. Creal succeeded only in striking a parked car and injuring himself, police said.

Creal’s injuries were minor, police said. He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct.

Creal was released on his own recognizance.
