Angry Ex Puts Romantic Rival In Ditch, Tells Him: 'That's What Happens When You Run Like A Bitch' - Cops

An angry ex-boyfriend lashed out at his romantic rival by ramming the back of the other man’s pickup truck, police said.

The ex — 21-year-old Robert Palmer of Godley — showed up at the Diamond home of his former girlfriend’s new lover just as the other man was leaving for work, police said. Palmer allegedly threatened to beat up the boyfriend but the other man simply got in his F-150 and pulled away.

Palmer followed in his Dodge Dakota, police said, then sped up and hit the Ford, sending it into the ditch.

After ramming the other man, Palmer called out to him and said, “That’s what happens when you run like a bitch,” according to police.

The man was limping when police found him by his pickup. He declined the services of an ambulance but later had his girlfriend take him to Morris Hospital.

That happened back in November, police said, and since then, Palmer’s former girlfriend and the other man got engaged. Deputies reportedly searched for Palmer over the last six months but were unable to find him.

On Tuesday, the cops obtained a warrant for Palmer’s arrest. He faces charges of aggravated battery, leaving the scene of a an accident and damaging property.

Palmer was taken into custody Wednesday and booked into the Will County jail. His bond was set at $125,000.
